2019 Rifle World Shoot – Awards Ceremony and Results

The closing ceremony of the IPSC 2nd Rifle World Shoot 2019 took place in the Conventum congress in the Örebro city, on Saturday, August 10.

 In 2019, about 650 athletes from 37 countries took part in the Rifle World Shoot. The largest national teams were represented by such countries as Sweden, Norway, Finland, Russia and Germany.

The stages were run by 60 international range officers (IROA) representing and 47 national range officers (NROI) representing 10 Regions

The Organizing Committee prepared 5 areas and 30 challenging stages for the athletes at the Villingsberg shooting range, which is situated 230 km from Stockholm.

The stages were located in a military shooting zone of 20 000 hectares (ca 49 000 acres). The stage design was totally integrated into nature, in bushes, forests, and lakes. The natural décor was amazing. This “3D” range was totally appropriate for IPSC Rifle Shooting and responded the safety requirements.

The RWS 2019 lasted from August 3 to 10. The main match took place on August 4 – 9, a shoot off and the awarding ceremony took place on August 10.

The RWS 2019 closing ceremony was attended by IPSC President Vitaly Kryuchin, IROA President Dino Evangelinos, IPSC Secretary Friedrich Gepperth, IPSC Sweden Regional director and a representative of the host region Roland Dahlman, and Swedish official representatives of the regional military and city authorities, athletes, officials, and their families and guests.

 With the support of the Swedish Army and match sponsors the 2019 Rifle World Shoot was a success!

IPSC Regional Director’s Dinner Held In Sweden

The 2019 Rifle World Shoot (RWS) IPSC Regional Directors’ dinner took place on August 7, 2019, in Villingsberg, Sweden.

The solemn dinner was attended by IPSC President Vitaly Kryuchin, IROA President Dino Evangelinos, IPSC Sweden Regional Director Roland Dahlman and IPSC Regional Directors from such the regions as Norway, Austria, Estonia, Italy, Finland, Netherlands, and others.

During the event, the IPSC President thanked the Swedish Regional Director for organizing the RWS II, as well as discussed a number of regional issues related to the development of the sport of practical shooting, and thanked the Regional Directors for their efforts to develop IPSC worldwide.

IPSC President Vitaly Kryuchin thanked IPSC Sweden for the 2nd Rifle World Shoot organization and for the Regional Directors dinner.

2019 Rifle World Shoot (RWS) Opening Ceremony

The 2019 Rifle World Shoot (RWS) opening ceremony took place on August 3, 2019, at Alfred Nobel Square in the middle of Karlskoga, Sweden.

 

The geographical position of Karlskoga, embedded in the beautiful and scenic province of Värmland, is strategic with Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Oslo within a radius of 300 km. The area has been inhabited since the stone ages and the city grew up as a center for the production of iron. Manufacturing of the world-famous Bofors field Howitzers and cannons started here 1880. Karlskoga has today almost 30 000 inhabitants and is the home town of Nobel Price founder Alfred Nobel.

 

The RWS II opening ceremony began with the participants’ parade with their national flags. About 650 athletes from 50 countries have arrived in Sweden to participate at the Rifle World Shoot (Level V).

 

During the opening ceremony of the RWS, the honored guests greeted the athletes with welcoming speeches.

 

The ceremony was attended by IPSC President Vitaly Kryuchin, IPSC General Secretary Friedrich Gepperth, IROA President Dino Evangelinos, IPSC Sweden Regional Director Roland Dahlman, Swedish official representatives of the regional military and city authorities and official guests.
